Mer Soleil Santa Lucia Highlands Reserve Chardonnay 2012. A cool vintage with the vines reaching full maturity October 6 thru November 5 just before the onset of winter. Fermented and aged in French oak barrels. 14.5 % by vol. Wagner Family of Wine. Mer Soleil, meaning 'sea and sun,' reflects our vineyards coastal setting where sunny skies mix with predictable, cooling maritime winds. Our reserve chardonnay is produced from hillside vineyards that are very near the Monterey Bay of California where we began planting in 1988. Fermented and aged in French oak barrels you should expect deep fruit flavor with a breath of Pacific wind, natural mineral acidity, and a luxurious and refined texture.
