Classic Double Cheese Smash Burger

80/20 Ground Beef, 1 Pound
American Cheese, 8 Slices
Hamburger Buns, 4 Buns
Lettuce
Tomato

- 1 Pound 80/20 Ground Beef
- 8 Slices of American Cheese
- 4 Hamburger Buns (recommendation: Love's)
- 1 Sliced Tomato
- Lettuce
- Salt & Pepper
Directions:
- Form 8 2 ox meatballs from the one pound of ground beef.
- Liberally season the meatballs with coarse salt and pepper.
- Open all the windows in your house.
- Place 2-3 meatballs on a steaming hot cast iron skillet.
- Smash the meatballs down with a smasher or spatula. Cook for 30-45 seconds.
- Flip the burgers and add a slice of cheese to each patty. Cook for 30 seconds.
- Top a toasted bun with your favorite fixings and add your double cheese patty.
